Supervision Group: Suicidal Ideation and Non-Suicidal Self-Injury (NSSI)
This specialized supervision group is designed for therapists wanting to become more comfortable working with clients experiencing suicidal ideation and non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI). The group offers a supportive and collaborative environment where practitioners can discuss challenging cases, share insights, and receive guidance on best practices.
Led every other Tuesday by supervisor Aubrey Lough, the group focuses on enhancing therapeutic skills in assessing risk, creating safety plans, and implementing evidence-based interventions. Participants will explore the complex emotional dynamics underlying suicidal thoughts and self-harming behaviors, and learn strategies to foster resilience and recovery in clients. In these sessions, we’ll also learn to document effectively to meet licensing board standards.
Through case discussions, peer support, and expert feedback, therapists will gain confidence in their ability to navigate these critical issues, ensuring that they provide compassionate, effective care while maintaining their own professional well-being.
