In some cultures, the dragonfly represents having the wisdom & resilience to adapt to change. This aligns with my belief in a person's ability to change. I have a history of advocacy that began when I was a teenager, and I remain committed to providing a voice for change while helping others find their own. I am a passionate queer ally and advocate and consider myself an expert in trauma treatment and the field of addiction & recovery.
After living the life of an Army BRAT, which included being born in Germany, traveling throughout Europe, and living in eight US states, I obtained a bachelor's degree in psychology and a master's degree in clinical psychology. I have worked in community behavioral health, private practice, residential services, and intensive outpatient settings. As an adult I fell in love with the diverse culture of New Orleans, which is where I have lived for many years.
My clients may notice I wear a dragonfly necklace. This is a symbol of my belief in adaptability and the potential for a brighter tomorrow. I will work to help you find this healthier tomorrow, one step at a time.
