Mei Yang, LSWAIC
Therapist
As a second-generation Canadian and first-generation U.S. immigrant, I understand the complexities and resilience often involved in healing and rebuilding across systems and identities. Now a Clinical Social Worker (LSWAIC), I bring over two years of experience working with high-acuity adults and a deep commitment to supporting individuals in meaningful ways.
I was raised in Montreal, Canada - working in my parents’ gift shops since the age of seven, living in fear and shame as the family’s "scapegoat," never finding a place to call "home" and feel safe. Because of my experience, I deeply value collaboration, creativity, and meeting people where they are.
What draws me most to this field is the opportunity to walk alongside people through both pain and growth. As someone who grew up in a visible minority family marked by dysfunction and cultural clash, I’ve had many sleepless nights wondering "what am I missing?" That personal work has only strengthened my desire to support others on their healing journeys, with curiosity, compassion, and culturally informed care. I am fluent in English, French, and Mandarin, and I’m learning Spanish to better serve diverse communities here in Seattle.
Outside of work, I find joy in listening to music, running, traveling, and watching my cats live their best lives. I bring that same balance of discipline and lightheartedness into my clinical approach—knowing that healing often happens in encouragement and laughter. I would be honored to be a part of your journey.
